Many different factors contribute to hair loss. Heredity, stress, hormonal imbalances, immune disorders, aging, and medications all play a role in hair thinning. Hair grows at the root, or follicle. It is then nourished by the nearby blood vessels. If the follicle dies, the hair falls out. And, that follicle can no longer regenerate hair. However, not all hair loss is due to follicle death. Hair loss also occurs when the majority of hairs get stuck in the resting phase of the hair growth cycle, the Telogen Phase. When this happens, the follicle is not dead; it is dormant. PRP and PRF can activate dormant hair follicles, leading to thicker hair.
